jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Democratic Party’s Central Executive Board officially supports Ramlan Nurmantias-Ibnu Asis to advance as prospective candidates for mayor and deputy mayor in the 2024 Bukittinggi Pilkada.
The letter of recommendation for support was given directly by the General Chair of the Democrats, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to Ramlan-Ibnu Asis at the DPP Democrats, Jakarta, Thursday (25/7).
Ramlan Nurmantias, who is also the chairman of the Bukittinggi Democrat DPC, stated that he and the chairman of the Bukittinggi PKS DPD are ready to run in the 2024 Pilkada.
“If calculated with the current PKS, we already have eight seats. So, we are ready to advance for the 2024 regional elections and will also prepare the existing team. God willing, we will be ready,” said Ramlan.
He also said that his party was ready to fight with other pairs, especially since there was a possibility that head to head with the Mayor of Bukittinggi Erman Safar.
“No matter how many pairs, God willing, I and Ustaz Ibnu Asis are ready to advance. Of course with the hope that all cadres, both Democrats, PKS and other parties, will help us for this victory,” he continued.
The former Mayor of Bukittinggi for the 2016-2021 period is optimistic about winning even though he is facing Erman Safar. Moreover, he is currently paired with a PKS cadre who is the winner of the Bukittinggi City Legislative Election.
“We are confident and believe that PKS’s position in Bukittinggi is the winner. We are also confident that the Democrat and PKS cadres are solid. God willing, we are optimistic about winning,” he explained.
