The Special Trial Chamber has issued a judgment against former Senator Musa Abraham Besaile Fayad, finding him guilty of the crimes of bribery by giving or offering and embezzlement by appropriation.
The verdict comes after Besaile himself accepted the charges in an attempt to mitigate his legal situation.
The sentence imposed by the Court is severe: 81 months and 20 days in prison, accompanied by a fine of 415 million pesos. In addition, Besaile He will face a ban from holding public office for 83 months and 3 days.
