The Supreme Court has refused to issue an interim order in the case against the cancellation of the 10.5% internal reservation for the Vanni.

On November 1, the Madurai branch of the Chennai High Court ordered the repeal of the state of emergency passed by the Tamil Nadu government, which provided 10.5 per cent internal reservation for the Vanni in the most backward sections of Tamil Nadu. The apex court has refused to issue an interim order in the case against the cancellation of 10.5% internal reservation for Vanni as the petition came up for hearing today.

The judges said that the 10.5% internal reservation for the Vanni would continue to be canceled and that the next hearing of the case would be held on February 15, 16. It has also been ordered that no change should be made in the enrollment of students who have already been admitted under the 10.5% reservation.
