കSupriya Menon’s father passed away last week with producer and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s wife. He had been undergoing treatment for cancer for more than a year. Supriya shares a heartbreaking note days after her father died. Supriya has also shared pictures with her father and family on social media.

Last Sunday (November 14) I lost a big part of my heart. My dad (Vijay Kumar Menon) has been battling cancer for more than thirteen months and has said goodbye to life. Dad was my everything! He was my strength and soul.
Although I was an only child, my father never stood in the way of my dreams when I was in school and college, in the job I chose to live in, or in the man I chose to marry. Has always supported me. I stood like my shadow to bear my stumbling blocks. All my goodness, openness, honesty, sincerity, and strength came from him.

It was Daddy who enabled me to stand on my own two feet. He was the same with Alli. Daddy has been with her since she was born. He took her for a walk, taught her to pitch, took her to play on the playground, picked her up from school and music class, and he became her daddy too. After Alli was born, her father’s world was hers.
Thirteen months was the hardest time of my life when Dad was diagnosed with cancer. On the one hand, while most people pretend and smile that everything is right in front of them, on the inside there were worries about the big risk of end-stage cancer. Cancer affects the whole family, and that is true.
For the past year I have been walking in and out of hospitals holding my dad’s hand as my dad took me by the hand and raised me. My close friends and family supported me on this journey.
When I look at the bowl that holds my father’s ashes, I realize the truth that he is no more. But my father will always be in my heart. The father is in me or I am the father.
