Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president K. said that Minister Muhammad Riaz has a connection with the Popular Front. KPCC Vice President VT Balram responded to Surendran’s allegations. VT Balram wrote on Facebook that although factually unreliable, this is a serious allegation and a challenge to the credibility of the administration itself. Balram added that when the BJP leaders are constantly making terrorist allegations and abuses against the CPM leaders, why are the CPM members running away without resorting to legal action?

Full text of VT Balram’s note;

The Popular Front of India is an organization banned in the country on the grounds of terrorism. The state president of the ruling party has alleged that a minister in the state has links with that organization. It is a serious one as an allegation, though factually implausible. It is a challenge not only to the accused but also to the credibility of the state administration itself. Because law and order is a state subject. No matter how baseless the allegations against the prominent minister, who is also a close relative of the state chief minister, who is directly handling the home department, the allegation of a banned terrorist organization, it is natural to assume its own serious nature.

Earlier, BJP leader B. Gopalakrishnan also made allegations of terrorism against LDF MLA KT Jalil. Jalil’s decision was that no legal action should be taken against it. Why are the CPM leaders running away without taking legal action when the BJP leaders are constantly making terrorist allegations and insulting the CPM leaders including ministers and MLAs?
