“Loving the sea is loving yourself, we are that energy that drives us to give everything for you and for surfing. Because when you come, you give everything and help us grow, to generate more work for our people, so that they know us more and more in the world and that they want to come to this country called El Salvador,” said the head of Tourism, Morena. Valdez, when welcoming the more than 60 delegations.

In this competition, the record for female participation is broken, which demonstrates the growth of female surfing on all continents of the world. Five countries are participating for the first time in this surfing competition: the Czech Republic, India, Latvia, Mauritius and Trinidad and Tobago.

“Thanks to El Salvador and President Nayib Bukele for believing in this dream that surfing could help a country change. These magnificent waves, this beautiful climate and, above all, the quality of the people, are a blessing for our world”, commented the president of the ISA, Fernando Aguerre.

The correct security measures promoted by the Government of President Bukele, combined with the commitment to develop the tourism sector, have allowed the country to host important events organized by the International Surfing Association. This is the second time that the World Surfing Games has been organized on Salvadoran beaches, recognized the Salvadoran authorities.
