Actor Suriya teams up with director Jithu Madhavan for the upcoming crime and comedy thriller Scene, slated for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, targeting the Diwali holiday period following a promotional event in Dubai.
Actor Suriya is eyeing a hat-trick of commercial successes this year with his upcoming feature Scene. Following the box office performance of Karuppu and Viswanathan & Sons, the actor is returning to screens for his third release of the year. The film brings together the actor and Malayalam director Jithu Madhavan.
His previous directorial ventures Romancham and Aavesham achieved strong commercial runs in Tamil Nadu as well. Both Suriya and Karthi phoned and praised Madhavan after watching Aavesham, leading to frequent conversations between the director and Suriya.

Director Jithu Madhavan Details the Quirky Investigation Plot
Director Jithu Madhavan outlined the narrative framework of the film in recent media interactions. He described it as an unpredictable investigation thriller driven by everyday friction and situational comedy. A former police officer who has stepped away from the force is handed an old case to reinvestigate.
Lacking an official squad, the protagonist takes on the responsibility of assembling his own team. The resulting lineup consists of eccentric individuals with mismatched temperaments who struggle simply to coexist in normal circumstances. Managing them day-to-day proves difficult enough, but attempting to make them function cohesively during a high-stakes inquiry creates an entirely different tier of complications. To uncover the truth, the unorthodox group must work through internal friction while facing a subtle opposition.
Suriya and Nazriya Lead a Strong Supporting Cast
The project marks a notable return for Nazriya, who stars opposite Suriya after a prolonged absence from Tamil cinema. The supporting roster features actors including Anandaraj, Lal, John Vijay, Rajpriyan, Mathiyalagan, and Naslen. Madhavan praised the technical crew.
He highlighted editor Ajmal Sabu’s skill in neatly weaving together written and directed sequences into a strong visual language. He noted that cinematographer Vineeth Augustine places camera angles thoughtfully from within the story.
