by time news

According to a recent survey conducted by Di, support for Moderate Party leader Ulf Kristersson is beginning to decline among business leaders. In June, 69 percent of business leaders expressed great or very great confidence in Kristersson, but that figure has now dropped to 63 percent, the lowest since he became party leader.

The survey also shows a decrease in support for opposition leader Magdalena Andersson of the Social Democrats, from 49 percent in June to 44 percent in the new survey.

On the other hand, support for Jimmie Åkesson of the Sweden Democrats is on the rise. Last summer, 32 percent of business leaders expressed support for Åkesson, and that figure has now increased to 38 percent. The support for the Sweden Democrats as a party has also increased from eight percent in the summer to 14 percent in October.

In contrast, the Moderate Party’s support has dropped from 60 to 53 percent, while support for Ebba Busch of the Christian Democrats has fallen from 37 to 33 percent. Support for Johan Pehrson of the Liberals has also decreased from 32 to 27 percent.

The survey also revealed that the Green Party’s Märta Stenevi and Per Bolund have seen a decrease in support to six and nine percent respectively. Trust in Nooshi Dadgostar of the Left Party and Muharrem Demirok of the Center Party remains unchanged at six percent.

The Di-barometer, which conducts surveys of Sweden’s most influential managers, interviewed 1,890 participants including Chairmen, CEOs, marketing managers, and financial managers of companies with more than ten employees and an annual turnover of over SEK 10 million.

The survey, conducted by Ipsos on behalf of Dagens Industri, took place from 12–25 October 2023 and the results were weighted with respect to the number of employees, turnover, and region in Sweden in order to adjust for possible biases in the selection. This survey’s findings provide insight into the shifting levels of trust and support among Sweden’s top business leaders.
