Some are more than patatús that of jamacuco. But others choose to use one of the ways we asked our followers last week. Instagram: and continue, and continue, parraques o and even

The preferred spelling of those surveyed, with 79% of the votes, was parraque. Although this word is not included in the academic dictionary, it does appear in other works, such as the Current Spanish Dictionary, by Seco, Andrés y Ramos, who registers it as a colloquial noun with the meaning of ‘attack or fainting’.

79% of those surveyed voted for parraqueswhile the other three options shared the remaining 21%

Other variants that we suggested in the survey were and continue (6 %) y and continue (8%), which, as explained by the Royal Spanish Academy in your X accountare colloquial terms typical of some areas, but less frequent than parraque.

Curiously, the word and continue It is not only used to refer to fainting, but in Colombia it is also used with the meaning of ‘strength, energy’, according to the Dictionary of Americanisms. Furthermore, the Current Spanish Dictionary notes that it is used in certain regions such as ‘tantrum or tantrum’ and as ‘sudden manifestation of an emotion or intention’.

Instead, the form and evenwhich obtained 7% of the votes, is not documented in academic corpora or in the main reference works, so it is not recommended.

We want to remember that these surveys do not have any scientific purpose, but only help us to know the words used by those who participate. As always, thank you very much to everyone who has voted, who we encourage to do so again in the next surveys that we will launch.
