‘Survivientes’ begins on Telecinco, the most extreme and complex ‘reality’ show on TV

The numbers of ‘Survivientes 2023’ show the complexity of the most extreme ‘reality’ that is currently being produced on national television. There are two teams that work in coordination between Spain and Honduras, with a difference of seven hours that will become eight when our country enters summer time at the end of March. From Madrid, about a hundred professionals are pending in the central studios of Telecinco so that everything goes in order. In the paradisiacal Cayos Cochinos, which hosts the survival of the contestants, another two hundred people work from the operations center so that the gear of the program works correctly. In total, three hundred workers from Mediaset España and the production company Bulldog TV that, for yet another edition, offer the most watched program on the channel from the Central American country. But there is more data: ‘Survivientes 2023’ has around thirty cameras, four of them underwater to record the adventure 24 hours a day; two drones to capture aerial shots; more than twenty boats for the movements of the contestants and the team; three helicopters; and some 4,000 meters of fiber optics that, together with the radio bridges, make connections between the continents possible. As a presenter from the island there will be, on this occasion, a new face: Laura Madrueño, a face linked to Mediaset’s meteorological information, who will replace the Asturian Lara Álvarez in these tasks, who since 2015 led coexistence, tests and controversies emerged in the ‘reality’. Thus, Jorge Javier Vázquez and Ion Aramendi will present the gala on Thursdays and Sundays, respectively; while Carlos Sobera will do the same in ‘Tierra de nadie’. Premiere? Tonight from 10:00 p.m. on Telecinco.

The new edition will come with 17 protagonists and with new features in mechanics, games and voting. The contestants will start in Honduras divided into three teams, which will have to start living and surviving on three different beaches, to which will be added a secret location whose living conditions may be positive or negative for its inhabitants. The games, as usual, will serve the participants to achieve benefits such as immunity and rewards that make up for the shortage of calories to which they will have to adapt. In addition, the survivors who are nominated each week by their peers will face a new salvation ceremony, which “will reduce the number of mourning for each of the expulsions,” as explained by the communication group.

Among the 17 survivors of the edition that will be launched from the helicopter, there are faces for all tastes: repeaters of other editions, participants of other ‘reality shows’ of the chain, athletes, models, couples and children of celebrities and also popular characters thanks to to social networks. In this sense, the hairdresser and ex-wife of Pedro Carrasco, Raquel Mosquera, returns to the contest after participating in 2018, where she became one of the finalists; The winner of ‘Big Brother VIP’, Adara Molinero, will also compete; Isa Pantoja’s partner, Asraf Beno; the former participant of ‘Hijos de papá 2’, Patricia Donoso; Anabel Pantoja’s mother-in-law, Arelys Ramos; or the daughter of Ana María Aldón, Gema Aldón.

The most famous island on the small screen will also inhabit Pocholo’s nephew, Bosco Blach Martínez-Bordiú; the children of Raquel Bollo and Chiquetete, Alma Bollo and Manuel Cortés; the winner of ‘Insiders’, Raquel Arias; the instagrammer Jonan Wiergo; the ‘tiktoker’ Ginés ‘Corregüela’; the paparazzi Sergio Garrido; the former captain of the Spanish Rugby Team Jaime Nava; the participants of ‘The island of temptations’ Diego ‘James Lover’ and Katerina Safarova; and the Italian model of Ukrainian origin Artur Dainese.

However, and as a novelty of the season, before flying to Honduras, during their meeting still in Spanish territory, the survivors have experienced the first important moment of the contest, forming part of an election that has determined who are the first five nominees who Therefore, they could not even reach the island.
