Venjaramood : The accused was found hanging dead in the Surya murder case when the trial was about to be completed. Shiju (33) was found hanging dead at Shiny Bhawan in Venjaramood. Locals say that he was undergoing treatment at Shiju Medical College Hospital due to mental disturbance. On Thursday morning, he went to the room on the second floor and hung himself from the hanging clip of the fan there. The family kicked open the door and took Shiju to a private hospital in Venjaramoot, but he died.
On January 27, 2016 at 10 am, Attingal KSRTC. Sasidharan’s daughter Surya (26) was hacked to death at Surya Bhawan, Palamkonam, Venjaramood, who was a nurse at St. John’s Hospital, Pirapankot, in the alley near the bus stand. The first hearing of the case was over. The case was adjourned till next month for further arguments. Meanwhile, Shiju died.
Surya’s murder resulted in the enmity over the rejection of his marriage proposal. Shiju got acquainted with Surya while he was in the hospital for treatment. He came to Surya’s house with a marriage proposal in three months. After the murder, the accused escaped from there and reached Kollam, took a room in a lodge and tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist. He was later arrested by the police and confessed to the crime. He got out on bail after his jail term. The accused committed suicide while facing trial.
“He chose his fate”
Surya’s mother Sushila said that God should not have given him this fate for killing his daughter. He chose his destiny. Sushila said that if she had felt guilty, she would not have been comfortable at home for so long.
