As an alternative to all this, the Indian Ministry of Oil and Petroleum and Eastern Gas has designed a solar powered stove called ‘Surya Nutan’. Surya Nutan is a rechargeable indoor solar cooking stove. It was designed and developed by Indian Oil’s R&D center at Faridabad. It has also been patented.

Solar panels are installed on the roof of the house and the solar energy captured by it is fed to this stove through a cable that carries it. With this, you can cook food using solar power from the comfort of your kitchen. In particular, it does not need to be placed in direct sunlight.
You can cook while charging with this sun. And it works in a hybrid mode. Can work on solar and auxiliary energy sources simultaneously. Hence, it can be used in all seasons.
This device is sure to be of great help to India. This is because currently most of the LPG used is imported. That means we get 50 percent of our LPG gas from abroad. Thus, not only the Indian economy but also the environment will not be damaged.
By using this stove, India will reduce its carbon dioxide emissions, Indian Oil said. This device has been tested in 60 places including Ladakh where solar light is very intense.
It can be used in all weather conditions. Suryanuthan will be available in three models. The basic model is priced at Rs. 12,000, while the top model costs Rs. It is reported that it will be sold for 23 thousand. It is said to be sold at Indian Oil petrol and diesel stations as well.
Although a bit expensive, comparing the gas cylinder prices can save you a one-time purchase and a series of savings. It is also said that this oven can cook three meals for a family of four. It goes on sale soon.
