Susana Zabaleta’s father dies; she cancels her concert in Mérida

Actress and singer Susana Zabaleta announced, through her social networks, about the death of her father, Alfonso José Zabaleta Margaín, which is why she had to cancel the concert she was to give this Saturday night in Mérida, Yucatán.

In a video on his Instagram account, Zabaleta said that he was going to give a concert at the Palacio de la Música in Mérida that evening but had to cancel due to “a family event.”

“A family event came up, my father became very ill and for me, I know that as an artist the obligation is to be on stage, but my obligation as a daughter is to be there with my brothers and with my mother,” said the artist with a broken voice.

The actress did not share details about the cause of her father’s death, nor whether he suffered from any illness.

He also said that “it is very difficult to sing and have your soul in sh*t,” so he will travel to Monclova, Coahuila to be with his family, but he assured that he would sing again in the next few days.

Zabaleta invited those who were going to see her in Mérida not to miss the concert in which she would share the stage with artists such as La San Felipe and Los Juglares.

Friends and family of the singer have sent their condolences through social media, while her fans have shown understanding of the singer’s family situation and have expressed their love and support during this difficult time.

Susana’s father will be laid to rest at Rancho Nada in Monclova, Coahuila and then cremated; while the religious service for his ashes will be held on Sunday, September 8 at the Sanctuary of Guadalupe.
