The whereabouts of Nicolás Pinochet García were lost after he arrived at the Emilio Schaffhauser Cesfam in La Serena with some canisters of fuel to try to burn down the facility.
The Homicide Brigade of the PDI of La Serena reported the arrest of a suspect of murdering the doctor Nicolás Pinochet García, whose trail was lost after trying to set fire to the Emilio Schaffhauser Cesfam in the commune days ago.
The doctor’s body was found on Thursday night in a vacant lot located on Route 5 and Huanhuali Street, in La Serena. Initial investigations revealed the involvement of third parties in his death, as he had injuries to his head.
In this regard, Prefect Pietro Hernández, head of the Elqui Prefecture of the PDI, stated that “The alleged perpetrator is a Venezuelan citizen, 24 years old, and is in an irregular situation in Chile.”
Hernández said that “work is being done (to determine) if there are more people involved in this murder. Since the investigation is confidential, I cannot reveal further details.”
The arrest of the so far only person involved in this homicide will take place on Saturday morning.

She started throwing things down the stairs and threatened that she was going to burn down the premises,” a source told Radio Biobío, adding that she sprayed the walls of the Cesfam with gasoline.
After this, he fled and only appeared on Thursday, when his body was found in a vacant lot, with injuries caused by third parties.
