Thrissur: Suspension for ASI, who directed the film starring Praveen Rana, the accused in the Safe and Strong investment fraud case. Santo Anthikad, who directed the movie Choran, was suspended. The suspension order was issued by Thrissur Range DIG.
After the arrest of Praveen Rana, Santo Anthikad was transferred from the rural police headquarters. Santo directed the film despite the Thrissur City Special Branch’s report that Rana was a fraudster. With this, Santo was transferred from the headquarters to Walappad police station. There was no further action.
Allegations of Praveen Rana’s connection with many high-ranking police officers had already surfaced. There were also reports that many retired police officers were among Rana’s staff members.
