A sport utility vehicle (SUV) was engulfed in flames in Montreal from Saturday night to Sunday.
At around 12:45 a.m., a call to 911 reported a vehicle on fire in a private driveway on Small Street, at the intersection of Saint-Louis Street, in the borough of Ville Saint-Laurent.
Due to the suspicious nature of the blaze, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) was dispatched to the scene to conduct an investigation. The fire was quickly brought under control by the Montreal Fire Safety Service before the police arrived, reported SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.
“The vehicle is a total loss” and “the property damage is minor,” the spokesperson clarified. No incendiary devices were found at the scene. An investigation by the SPVM’s arson section is underway.
