The SV Gebersheim and the Spvgg Renningen ask for money in different ways to finance projects – it’s about an artificial turf and an LED floodlight system.

Some time ago, the soccer players of Spvgg Renningen launched a crowdfunding campaign with the Volksbank Leonberg-Strohgäu (www.viele-schaffen-mehr.de) in order to be able to co-finance an LED floodlight system in the stadium. The project costs a total of 50,000 euros, so far 4,270 of the targeted 10,000 euros have been raised. “We hope that there will be even more,” says department head Stefan Heimerdinger.

SV Gebersheim recently had an LED floodlight system, but the club’s footballers pinch their shoes elsewhere. You urgently need an artificial grass pitch. Planning began four years ago with the aim of converting the upper old grass field into an all-weather playing field in order to be able to maintain the increasing training and game operations, especially for the youth teams, even in bad weather. Of course, the club receives grants from various pots, but SV Gebersheim still needs equity of at least 15,000 euros, as CEO Arne Müller explains, who concedes that the corona pandemic with its negative side effects would not have accelerated the project.

Robot lawn mower thanks to crowdfunding

The club is familiar with crowdfunding campaigns, a year ago it used this method to purchase a robotic lawnmower, but in the case of the artificial turf, the club is contacting members, friends and patrons directly. The SVG has started an online sale where plots of a virtual playing field can be bought ( – a pixelated plot costs at least 50 euros, depending on the location on the playing field to make it visible in this way,” promises Müller. Currently, 85 percent of the playing field is still free.
