Sveriges tre bästa busförare 2023 (Sweden’s Top Three Bus Drivers 2023) Announced in the Bus Driver Championship
September 5, 2023 – In a thrilling finale to this year’s Bus Driver Championship, BO Åhrström from Örnsköldsvik emerged as the winner. Åhrström, who drives for Byberg & Nordin Busstrafik, showcased exceptional skills and expertise to secure the coveted title of Bus Driver of the Year 2023. Konstantin Goryainov from Östersund, who works for Vy Buss, claimed the second position, followed by Nedal Moutlak from Gothenburg, representing Leja Touring, in third place.
The Bus Driver Championship, which was held for the 20th consecutive year, witnessed the participation of 500 drivers who endured a rigorous selection process. The initial phase involved a theory test, and eventually, 20 finalists were chosen who vied for the title on Tuesday. The intense competition took place in Arlandastad, where the drivers showcased their abilities through reversing, maneuver tests, service and response, economical driving, and disaster drills.
Anna Grönlund, the branch manager at Sveriges Bussföretat, expressed her delight and extended her congratulations to BO Åhrström, highlighting the importance of bus drivers in society. Grönlund emphasized the role of bus drivers in encouraging travelers, both former and new, to return to using buses as a climate-friendly mode of transportation after the pandemic. Grönlund praised all the participants for their outstanding performances and noted that they serve as exceptional ambassadors for the profession.
