Old farm buildings, in which pigs were raised for the needs of the Plovdiv prison, underwent a complete change and were turned into a luxurious open-air dormitory. 130 prisoners will serve their sentences in them, and the opening is tomorrow, at which the Minister of Justice, Maria Pavlova, is expected.

The reconstruction lasted more than a year and was carried out according to all the rules, according to people familiar with the matter. At the moment, they are feverishly preparing for the opening.

The dormitory is located opposite the prison itself. The project, which has been fully implemented, involved the reconstruction of the existing buildings. Now modern conditions have been created for the accommodation of convicted persons. The capacity is up to 130 people, with 62 rooms equipped on the first floor, and 63 on the second. Each of them has two beds and a private bathroom. There are also for disabled people. The conditions are almost hotel-like. They will accommodate convicts who are about to be released from prison.
