BOLZANO. “Luis Durnwalder deserves a monument for his services to the Province and the population, but certainly not trials”. The secretary of the SVP reiterates this Harald Stauder regarding the latest legal strand on the former governor’s representation funds.
“You can have any opinion about Luis Durnwalder, but almost no one can deny it: His governorship was a great gain for South Tyrol. Personally, and I think that many South Tyroleans think the same, I find it incomprehensible why a truly worthy and popular politician is not finally left in peace. In any case, our opinion of him is very clear. Luis Durnwalder never enriched himself. On the contrary: he granted small aids and contributions in an unbureaucratic manner. The balance sheet of the former provincial governor Luis Durnwalder is clearly positive for the province and its population. This will not change in the future”, says the SVP president Dieter Steger.
