On this Friday’s sessionGovernor Sergio Uñac presided over the swearing-in ceremony of 155 university technicians and 436 graduates in Citizen Security from the San Juan Police and, in addition, delivered mobility and elements aimed at optimizing prevention and operational tasks, framed in the province’s strategic security plan.
The ceremony took place at the Bicentennial Stadium, in Pocito. There, the troops who showed their loyalty on this day, will fulfill functions throughout the provincial geography, with the immediate purpose of promoting prevention operations and other tasks related to the protection of people, framed in the strategic security plan.
These officials have been trained within the framework of human rights, in a broad knowledge of the regulatory norms of conduct, always adopting a sense of vocation and belonging to the provincial police.
After the greeting by the governor, secretary of Security and chief of police to the Formation 14 de Abril, the stanzas of the Hymn were sung Argentine National, in charge of the San Juan Police Music Band. Subsequently, the chaplain Gabriel Aciar offered his blessing to those present and the police chief swore in the new graduates.
At the opening, Sergio Uñac thanked the presence of officials and relatives and the new graduates for their vocation to belong to the police force of the province. “We have heard about the efforts being made around the world to crack down on crime. That is why I want to value that only an ordered state, with a committed society, it can provide, for seven consecutive years, the entry of personnel and the investment necessary to make the security elements and vehicles a reality”, he stated.
“I invite San Juan residents, newcomers, and family members to value what we San Juan residents have achieved in San Juan. Let’s see that we are on the right path, which is still missing. In 2015 there were 4,000 agents and today there are more than 6,000, with 300 mobility at that time and today with almost 900, of high quality”, he said.
Other concepts of the first president were: “We sanjuaninos left behind in San Juan fights, disagreements and discord, to work on state policies, to assume the responsibilities that fall to him, fulfilling them to improve our quality of life”.
He also addressed the entrants to reaffirm “the desire to work together. I admire their training and, above all, the vocation they had to join a force that is the pride of all San Juan residents and that I am sure will continue to be so”.
Moving forward, Uñac congratulated the officials directly linked to the security of the province, the entrants and family members and emphasized “The desire to continue building a just, egalitarian and equitable society is what will mobilize us to continue making all the necessary efforts so that San Juan continues to be one of the best provinces in the country, which does not depend on one, but on 820 thousand sanjuaninos”.
Next, Carlos Munisaga, Secretary of Security, greeted the governor and the rest of the officials and addressed the new agents, focusing on the responsibilities and obligations for which they have been trained. “From this moment you are policemen and this implies a 24-hour task. It is self-denial and sacrifice, to maintain order and take care of the property and rights of San Juan citizens,” he said.
To conclude, the secretary listed the vehicles and the rest of the elements delivered on the spot to the San Juan Police. The government handed over vehicles to the provincial police: 40 patrol cars, including Toyota Corolla, Etios, and Prius cars; 3 fire-fighting trucks for quick action and a specific task for firefighters, for forestry use, Toyota Hilux 4×4 brand; 13 patrol motorcycles of different displacements; among which the brands Honda tornado xr 250 displacements stand out; 10 Nissan Frontier 4×4 trucks, 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed manual gearbox.
In addition, the force was endowed with 2 mobile urban monitoring towers, with an anti-riot shielding system and high-definition video surveillance, night vision and a 360-degree range, with an area of more than 600 meters away; 2 portable housing modules, for security boxes, equipped with insulation, bathroom, lighting and beacons; 28 Fossil brand bicycles rolled 29 aluminum frame, disc brakes.
Other elements What the local police will have as of today are computers, for the new system implemented; 100 bulletproof vests; 500 Bersa 9mm weapons and 50 shotguns.
Also the distribution of Firefighters of the Police de San Juan received 50 structural suits for its personnel and 50 self-contained breathing apparatus made up of low-pressure alarm communication systems.
