The President of the National Assembly, Mr. Seïni Oumarou chaired, on Friday, April 7, 2023, the continuation of work in plenary session of the first ordinary session for the year 2023, known as the session of laws. Two items were on the agenda. The examination and adoption of draft agendas and work schedules and the swearing in of a member of the National Human Rights Commission.

After reading the various projects, the parliamentarians examined and adopted the draft agenda and the schedule of work.

Shortly after, Mr. Oumarou Diori Hamani, representative of lawyers at the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) was sworn in before national elected officials. And this, in accordance with the texts that govern the CNDH. Indeed, it is required that before taking office, members of the CNDH must take an oath before parliamentarians. This is how Mr. Oumarou Diori Hamani took an oath using the following formula: “I swear to fulfill my functions well and faithfully as provided for by the Constitution and the law, to exercise them in complete independence, to ensure without failure to fulfill the duties that the Constitution and the law impose on me and to maintain the secrecy of information and deliberations. In case of perjury let me suffer the rigors of the law”.
