Sweden’s first female prime minister resigns

Sweden’s first female Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson has resigned. Within hours of taking office he resigned.

His ruling budget was rejected by the ruling coalition’s Green Party because it was in favor of the opposition. So 54-year-old Ms. Anderson decided to resign.

He said he did not want to lead a government that would question the legal process.

As an independent, Ms. Anderson said she was interested in leading the Social Democrats.

An economist, he served as finance minister before becoming prime minister.
