The Tidö parties present Sweden’s new strategy against organized crime, similar to those already in place against violent extremism and terrorism.

– The destructive power of serious organized crime was underestimated for far too long in our society, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) at a press conference.

– A long-term strategic approach is needed.

The strategy, which the government decided on today, contains five guiding objectives.

These are: Stopping criminal careers, reducing access to illegal weapons and explosives, disrupting the criminal economy, building resilience against unauthorized and improper influence and ensuring reliable identities and an effective information supply.

Richard Jomshof (SD), chairman of the justice committee, Torsten Elofsson (KD), spokesperson for legal policy and Martin Melin (L), spokesperson for police affairs, also attend the press conference.
