Swedish Authority Implements Checks to Enforce Restrictions in Wild Boar Containment Zone
The Swedish Agricultural Agency has announced that it has begun conducting checks to ensure that people are following the restrictions in a designated zone aimed at containing the spread of infection carried by wild boars. According to a press release, individuals found inside the restricted zone without the proper authorization could face fines.
The restrictions also apply to those who have been granted an exemption to carry out work within the zone. Failure to comply with the conditions of their exemption could result in the revocation of their authorization. All activities involving people or vehicles in the forest and on the land within the designated zone are strictly prohibited. “It is crucial that we all contribute to preventing the spread of the infection to areas with higher restrictions,” says Madeleine Haal Gertzell, a group leader in the Swedish Agency for Agriculture’s crisis organization.
