Swedish long-term unemployment continues to rise

“In July, long-term unemployment rose by 45,000 people compared to July last year,” Statistics Sweden Louise Stener said in a statement.

The agency said The Swedish economy is in “clear recession” according to all indicators, and the unemployment figures are also showing that.

The number of people aged 15-74 who are in work is 5,444,000 people, not seasonally adjusted – that is a decrease of 80,000 compared to July last year, but not all those people are classified as long-term unemployed (unemployed for at least 27 weeks).
