Swedish police bans renewed burning of the Koran – Sweden

Stockholm – After an Islamophobic burning of the Koran in Sweden, which delayed the hoped-for entry into NATO, a renewed action of this kind has been prohibited. A corresponding application had been rejected, the police said on Wednesday. Islamophobic protests had already caused trouble with NATO member Turkey in January. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had therefore threatened that Sweden could not count on his support for its NATO application.
