The leak revealed that the company is testing USB 3.0 and even DP tests for all of its phones, which indicates that it will soon adopt the latest standards.

And this news is coming from sources close to the topic (via ITHome) who mentioned that Xiaomi is planning to introduce USB 3.0 support for its new products. In the new report, a screenshot from CIT has also been shared. For those unaware, CIT is a hardware testing tool for Xiaomi devices. By clicking Kernel version several times in settings, users can go in and perform functional tests on different devices.

In other words, the company is finally working on bringing the latest standards to its phones. The brand has been notorious for not using USB 3.0 for years in its flagship lineup, and with the Xiaomi 12 Ultra just around the corner, it comes as no surprise that this model is the first to adopt USB 3.0 standards. Keep in mind that this is still just speculation at the moment.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra specifications according to the leaks

According to the leaks available so far, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will come with a 6.73-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2k with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz with LTPO technology in its second generation. In principle, the phone will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor paired with 8, 12 and 16 GB LPDDR5 random access memory (RAM) and 256/512 GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.

In terms of the battery, it will have a capacity of 4900 mAh, and the phone will support fast wired charging of 120 watts, and fast wireless charging of 50 watts and is expected to support reverse charging as well. Xiaomi 12 Ultra will also have a fingerprint sensor built into the bottom of the screen, an infrared sensor, stereo speakers with vibration, in addition to IP68 water and dust resistance.

And the triple-lens rear camera, the main one, will be 50 megapixels with the distinctive Sony IMX989 sensor, with support for OIS optical stabilization technology, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens as well, supporting hybrid zoom up to 120x and optical stabilization OIS. The front lens will be 32 megapixels. The phone will run Android 12 with the latest MIUI interfaces and will be available in four color options.

As for the price of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, according to the leaks, the price of the 8-256 GB version will be 885 dollars, 960$ for the 12-256 GB version, 1005$ for the 12-512 version and 1080$ for the 16-512 GB version.
