SWEET BLOOD AND ANGER – RED BLOG

I confess that I went to Beira-Rio with sweet blood, expecting a defeat, with the intention of checking the performances of the reserves, Gabriel’s resurgence, Bruno Henrique’s resourcefulness, Igor Gomes in defense, Nico without trauma, etc…

Seeing the line-up, with Gabriel Barros in the attacking line, I was even more excited; The kid hadn’t played as a starter yet.

But, starting the game and Inter showing intensity, touching the ball, strong marking all over the field, I was excited. Until 20 minutes into the second half, Galo didn’t know what the ball was, he didn’t put together plays, he didn’t complete passes, he didn’t even shoot at the goal. Keiller made interventions or returned the ball with kicks, and the second ball belonged to Inter.

That’s our frequent problem with the reserve team, not scoring goals. Our attackers are unable to bother the opposing defense. The full-backs, the midfielder, all set up the plays, roam the area, but they lack the final touch, the movement that frees either the center forward or someone else to finish on goal.

Luiz Adriano even hit a beautiful shot at the beginning of the game, but, again, he did little. I thought Lucca did well, playing as a second striker, playing on both sides, but he lacked company further forward.

Campanharo was below the rest throughout the game, and got tired in the second half, reducing the team’s pace. In the first half, he also chose to pace the game when he could, and should, speed it up, in addition to mistaken choices on the game side, as Rômulo played one of his best games at Inter, but was barely used.

The good surprise was Gabriel Barros, playing in the middle, more or less like Wanderson. He missed a goal in Dalbert’s good play and scored and set up the team, with good dribbling. For those who hadn’t played it yet, it went very well and I even think it has become an alternative, although the sample size is very small.

Our problem remains in goal. I’ve repeated several times that Keiller has the tools of a good goalkeeper, but without confidence, he can’t play, and it won’t be here that he regains his confidence. In fact, we are wasting time with him in reserve, holding Antony and Emerson.

In the first goal, it was Edenílson, that is, the only thing he would do was cross, he wouldn’t shoot at the goal, there was no need to be under the sticks, especially in a long cross. I may be wrong, but it was a ball to go out of the goal and intercept, and not wait for someone to head it. He even made a good defense, but insufficient.

Inter still tried to equalize, but the collective error of Dalbert and Igor Gomes, and, again, Keiller, defined the game.

Dalbert cannot take a throw-in to the middle of the area and for the last man, Igor Gomes should have risked his head on the ball, or the foul, but he hesitated, and Keiller, upon seeing the foolishness of the side, should have stepped forward, and not retreated. . When the ball was divided, it was certain that Galo’s attacker would not have space to adjust himself, but Keiller gave him space by staying under the goal until he controlled the ball, and then it was too late.

Once the game was decided, the fans set the tone for this game, singing encouragement for Wednesday. Even so, I left frustrated, even with the result I expected, the team performed for something more.

Criticism continues on quality. Hulk had a single chance, and still with a splash, and he did it. We wasted chances. Bruno Henrique cannot shoot a ball that is left on the edge of the box, and we need a more effective striker than Luis Adriano.
