jpnn.com – Indonesian women’s doubles tennis player Aldila Sutijadi has successfully secured a ticket to the second round of the 2024 US Open with her Japanese partner Ena Shibahara.
Dila/Ena successfully defeated Tatjana Maria (Germany)/Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (Slovakia) in the first round with a convincing score of 6-4, 6-3.
This result paved the way for Dila/Ena to go further in one of the Grand Slam tournaments.
Dila/Ena performed solidly even though they were just paired, meaning they just made their debut at the 2024 US Open.
“We are very grateful for the results we have achieved,” said Aldila Sutjiadi.
“This is a good start, but we still have a long way to go,” he continued.
Before duetting with Ena, Dila paired with Miyu Kato (Japan) at the Australian Open and Asia Muhammad (United States) at Wimbledon and the French Open.
Dila feels that her debut with Ena went well because they complement each other.
