The New York Post quoted Swiss officials as saying that “a former Miss Switzerland finalist was strangled and brutally dismembered by her husband, who then ground her up in a blender.”
According to the newspaper, “Kristina Joksimovic, 38, was found murdered in her home in Binningen, near Basel, Switzerland, on the night of February 13, and her husband Thomas, 41, was arrested the next day.”
According to the newspaper, “The husband confessed to killing his wife, and according to the autopsy report, he cut up the body using an electric saw, a knife and garden shears, grinding some of the pieces in an electric blender and dissolving others in a chemical solution in the laundry room.”
Prosecutors said Thomas displayed “a marked level of criminal energy, lack of empathy and cold-bloodedness” after killing his wife. The prosecution also revealed that he had previously strangled his wife, with a former friend of the victim saying that he once grabbed her by the neck and slammed her head against a wall.
Joksimovic was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland, and in 2007 she reached the finals of the Miss Switzerland competition, according to the website “20 Minuten”.
