Jaffna – Tamil National Federation member Selvarasa and his wife have been attacked with swords in Vali East Pradesh Sabha.
The incident took place at night (16-03-2023) around 8.30 in front of his house located on Koppai-Manippai road.
What is more to be known about the incident is that while they were returning home after participating in the temple festival, the three men who followed the Pradesh Sabha member and his wife intercepted them in front of their house and tried to cut the gold jewelery worn by the wife.
Admission to Jaffna Teaching Hospital
Meanwhile, when the divisional council member and his wife tried to stop him from cutting the jewellery, both of them were slashed with swords and fled.
After that, the people gathered there rescued both of them and admitted them to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Coppai police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
