New Delhi: Syed Saadatullah Hussaini has been elected once for the leadership of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in the recent meeting of the Central Majlis of Representatives held in New Delhi. The central leadership is elected for a four-year term. The first Amir in India Maulana Abul Laith Islahi Nadvi passed away, Maulana Abul Laith Sahib was the Amir of Jamaat for twenty four years from 1948 to 1972. After that Maulana Muhammad Yusuf late was elected Amir Jamaat and he remained as Amir Jamaat for nine years i.e. from 1972 to 1981. In 1981, late Maulana Abul Laith Islahi was re-elected as Ameer of Jamaat, he remained Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind till 1990. From 1990 to 2003, Maulana Muhammad Sirajul Hasan was the Amir of the late Jamaat-e-Islami. From 2003 to 2007 Dr. Abdul Haq Ansari was the late Ameer Jamaat. From 2007 to 2019, Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari was the late Ameer Jamaat. In 2019, the Honorable Mr. Syed Saadatullah Hussaini was elected as the Ameer of the Jamaat, and today the Central Majlis of Representatives of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has re-elected him as the Emirate for the next four-year Meeqaat.
It should be clear that Syed Saadatullah Hussaini was the Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind during the period from 2015 to 2019, before that he was also handling the responsibilities of various institutions and departments of the Jamaat.
