Following the kidnapping of the Chief Registrar of Diré, Balla SIDIBE, in the Timbuktu region on Saturday April 15, 2023, the Syndicat Libre de la Magistrature (SYLIMA), in a press release made public on Monday April 17, 2023, reassures relatives and the parents of the person concerned as well as all the Registrars and Secretaries of Court Offices and Public Prosecutor’s Offices of Mali for their fraternal solidarity. However, he appeals to the respect of the word given by the State of Mali.

In its document, SYLIMA claims to have learned with dismay, on Saturday April 15, 2023, of the kidnapping in Diré of Mr. Balla SIDIBE, Chief Registrar of the Justice of the Peace with jurisdiction Extended from the circle of Diré (Timbuktu region), by unidentified gunmen.
In this particularly trying circumstance, SYLIMA expresses its compassion to the employee unjustly deprived of his freedom before reassuring the relatives and relatives of the person concerned as well as all the Clerks and Secretaries of Court Offices and Public Prosecutor’s Offices in Mali of its fraternal solidarity.
On the other hand, SYLIMA deeply regrets the attitude of the Government ”which only cares about securing the courts” as well as judicial personnel when there is danger within the judicial sanctuary.
However, the Free Syndicate of the Judiciary appeals to the respect of the word given by the State that it engages.
Furthermore, he asks the national authorities to do everything possible to bring this “excess hostage” back to his family. According to the SYLIMA press release, this unfortunate incident occurred while the Chief Registrar, Balla SIDIBE, was on a regular public power mission in a high-risk area. He hopes to find Master Balla SIDIBE healthy, safe and above all as soon as possible.
SYLIMA strongly condemned violence in any form whatsoever, before reaffirming its solidarity with the national union of Clerks and Secretaries of Registry and Public Prosecutor’s Offices of Mali (SYNAG), its faithful and traditional partner.
As a reminder, around 10 p.m., according to local sources, on Saturday April 15, 2023, the Chief Registrar of Diré, Balla SIDIBE, was kidnapped by unidentified armed men, who were riding a motorbike in the city of Diré.
