EOne of the most famous German poets, Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926), lived in seclusion from 1921 onwards at Muzot Castle in Valais, where he completed the famous “Duinese Elegies”. He was very interested in the history of the old walls and discovered an old swastika over a Gothic door.
