More than 60% of unvaccinated Russians plan to be vaccinated in the near future, according to a survey by the Synergy University. The main reasons are the preservation of the workplace and health.

The study was conducted on June 18–21 in 85 regions among 5 thousand adult respondents under 60 years of age. 64.8% of them work in the fields of health care, education, housing and communal services, trade, catering, leisure, entertainment and others, 27.3% are entrepreneurs, 7.9% are other categories. According to the survey, 74.7% of respondents did not get vaccinated (according to the authorities – 87.8%). The results of the study are cited by RIA Novosti.

Why do Russians want to get vaccinated:

  • to keep a job – 35.1%,
  • for the sake of health – 29.8%,
  • to cancel the mask and glove regime – 16.5%,
  • for travel – 12.5%,
  • for visiting museums, restaurants and cinemas – 6.1%.

According to sociologists, many did not get vaccinated earlier because they did not think that it would become mandatory (45%). Another 35.2% of respondents were sure that the pandemic was over, 12.8% were afraid of side effects, and 7% were against vaccination in principle.

According to government reports, the number of people wishing to be vaccinated in recent days has almost doubled in many regions of the country. This happened after the introduction of mandatory vaccinations under the threat of dismissal. Kommersant calculated that at such a rate the city authorities will be able to reach the goal of 60% of vaccinated workers in three to four months.
