Synergy between Ministry of Transportation and North Sumatra Provincial Government is the Key to Success of PON XXI Transportation Services

jpnn.com – The North Sumatra Transportation Agency (Dishub Sumut) in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Land Transportation ensures that all mobilization of athletes, officials, and contingents from various regions during the implementation of the XXI Aceh-Sumut National Sports Week (PON) runs smoothly.

Overall, the number of vehicles provided is 1,334 units for mobilization from and to Kualanamu – Silangit Airport, hotels, or match venues.

The transportation fleet consists of 394 vehicles, 315 medium buses, 237 microbuses, and 21 goods vehicles. The Directorate of Road Transportation, Directorate General of Land Transportation, Ministry of Transportation also provides 367 buses.

Head of the North Sumatra Transportation Agency and Head of the Transportation Division of the PB PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra for the North Sumatra region, Agustinus Panjaitan, said that the synergy between the North Sumatra Provincial Government and the Ministry of Transportation is very crucial in the smooth running of transportation services and is the key to the success of PON transportation services.

“With a total of 967 fleets provided by the North Sumatra Provincial Government and 367 buses from the Ministry of Transportation, we ensure that the mobilization of athletes and officials is safe, comfortable, and on time,” said Agustinus as quoted from a press release, Friday (20/9/2024).

In addition to supporting match activities, transportation services also ensure that athletes, officials and contingents who have finished competing can return home smoothly via the airport.

“Our commitment is to provide the best service, in accordance with the direction of the Acting Governor of North Sumatra, Dr. Agus Fatoni, who emphasized that the implementation of this PON is a success and brings a deep impression to all participants,” said Agustinus.

He added that this was not the first time the Ministry of Transportation had provided support in providing transportation services for national and even international scale events.
