jpnn.comYOGYAKARTA – Jasa Raharja President Director, Rivan A. Purwantono attended the opening of the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of the Association of River, Lake and Ferry Transportation Entrepreneurs (Gapasdap) held in Yogyakarta, on Wednesday (11/9).

Rivan said that Gapasdap has a significant contribution because it has the Compulsory Ship Contribution (IWKL) as one of Jasa Raharja’s sources of income from operators who are members of Gapasdap.

“We also express our gratitude because in terms of safety, ships are one of the modes of transportation with the lowest accident rate in Indonesia, which is 0.43 percent,” he said.

Rivan added that Jasa Raharja together with Gapasdap continue to provide mutual contributions and synergy in the service sector, including through monitoring the safety and security of shipping on ferry transportation, ensuring compliance with deposits (IWKL), encouraging improvements in the governance of ferry transportation services and safety, and passenger data collection systems.

In addition, improvements are made to sailing safety and security through the improvement and development of human resources, monitoring of activities in the field, and evaluation of annual crossing tariff adjustments.

“Of course, this is a very good collaboration that will continue to be maintained and improved,” said Rivan.

Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Risyapudin Nursin, said that sea crossing transportation is one of the focuses of the Ministry of Transportation to continue to improve services, including realizing zero accidents.

According to him, the phenomenon of public transportation accidents is a concern and responsibility for all parties.
