“I ask you to intensify your prayer so that all participants in the General Assembly of the Synod are open to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit, so that He is the one who guides us in our work.”
With these words, the Archbishop of Barcelona, Cardinal Juan José Omella, has asked the faithful in his last Sunday letter May they support the participants of the Synod of Synodality that begins next Wednesday by invoking the Holy Spirit.
The Cardinal recalls that, in the history of the Church, especially “in intense moments of work and discernment, in councils, synods, ecclesial assemblies,” the faithful have adopted an invocation attributed to Saint Isidore of Seville: “We are before you, Holy Spirit.”
