The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed, “Four mass graves were found in Daraa Governorate, southern Syria, within days, containing the remains of 163 bodies.”
According to the Observatory, yesterday, Saturday, “residents found 5 bodies in the city of Al-Sanamayn in the northern countryside of Daraa, and on Wednesday a mass grave containing the remains of 31 unidentified people was found in Al-Kuwaiti Farm near the city of Izraa, in the central countryside of Daraa.”
According to the Observatory, on December 22, “the remains of 93 people were found, including children and women, and on December 16, residents discovered a mass grave containing 34 bodies of unidentified people, also on the outskirts of the city of Izra.”
The Observatory called for “opening an independent international investigation to reveal the identity of the victims, and bringing those responsible for these killings to justice.”
Blinken: Washington supports a peaceful transfer of power in Syria
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aty.
The US State Department said, “The discussions confirmed the peaceful settlement of the situation in Syria.”
The two sides also stressed “the importance of forming a government that represents the Syrian people and bears responsibility before them.”
Abdel-Ati made a phone call to his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Shaibani, a few days ago, during which he affirmed “Egypt’s full support for the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people.”
The sixth Saudi relief plane launches to Syria
The sixth Saudi relief plane left King Khalid Airport in Riyadh on Sunday, heading to Syria, as part of an air bridge operated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
According to the Saudi News Agency “SPA”, “The plane heading to Damascus International Airport carries food, medical and shelter aid, to contribute to alleviating the effects of the difficult conditions that the Syrian people are currently going through.”
Earlier, “The King Salman Relief Center announced that it would run a land bridge into Jordanian territory towards Syria, and that it would transport heavy medical equipment.”
