Today, Saturday, the Syrian Civil Defense “White Helmets” announced the destruction of a number of cluster bombs spread throughout the country, while the General Command of the Military Operations Department announced the assignment of Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani to the portfolio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the new government.
The Civil Defense said in a post on its Facebook page today: “Dozens of cluster bombs, leftover from the bombing by the forces of the defunct Assad regime, are spreading in Syrian cities and towns, between civilian homes, near agricultural fields, and on the sides of roads.”
He added: “Our teams are working to get rid of them gradually and at an accelerated pace to ensure the protection of the lives of our civilians, as the teams worked to remove the remnants of an exploded missile from agricultural lands in the village of Abu Al-Zindin, east of Aleppo.”
He pointed out that “a number of cluster bombs were destroyed in the cities and towns of Salamiya, Mirdiftain, and Matnen in the Hama countryside and on the outskirts of the city, as these munitions posed a great danger to the lives of civilians.”
In a related context, the General Command of the Department of Military Operations in Syria announced today, Saturday, the assignment of Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani to the portfolio of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the new government.
Who is Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, who is in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the new Syrian government?
He was born in Al-Hasakah Governorate in 1987. He lived in Damascus and graduated from its university in 2009 from the College of Arts and Humanities: English Language and Literature Branch.
He holds a master’s degree in political science and foreign relations from Sabahattin Zaim University in Türkiye in 2022, and is completing his doctorate in the same specialty.
He is currently studying the final stage of the Master of Business Administration (MBA).
He joined the Syrian revolution since its inception in 2011 and witnessed all its stages, and participated in establishing the Syrian Salvation Government in 2017.
He founded the Department of Political Affairs in the Salvation Government and was its head from its beginning until now.
Recently, the new Syrian authorities made a number of appointments to key positions, the most recent of which was the appointment of the leader of the Levant Front, Azzam Gharib, known as “Abu al-Izz Saraqib,” as governor of Aleppo.

The Damascus embassy in Jordan announced today, Saturday, that it has granted Syrians a free return ticket to their homeland.
The Syrian embassy said in a statement on its page on the social networking site “Facebook”: “Fellow citizens, members of the Syrian community in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the embassy announces the provision of the service of issuing a transit ticket to return to Syria for free, for a period of one month only, non-renewable.”
