Syria earthquake: Death toll rises to 7,266

Gaziantep is a city located in the southeastern part of Turkey near the border with Syria. A powerful earthquake struck the city at 4.17 am on Monday. The earthquake, which occurred at a depth of 17.9 kilometers near Ghaziabad, registered 7.8 on the Richter scale.

Many buildings collapsed in Turkey-Syria due to this earthquake. A few minutes after this earthquake, a terrible earthquake occurred again in Elbistan district of Haramanamaras province of Turkey. The earthquake measured 7.5 on the Richter scale. This was followed by successive earthquakes.

In this terrible earthquake, buildings collapsed and flattened in various cities of Turkey-Syria. Thousands of people died in this terrible earthquake. Many are seriously injured.

In this case, the death toll in the Turkey-Syria earthquake has crossed 7 thousand. As of now, 5 thousand 434 people have died in Turkey due to the earthquake. Also, 1 thousand 832 people have died in Syria. Thus, the death toll from the Turkey-Syria earthquake has increased to 7,266. Also, more than 35 thousand people have been seriously injured due to this earthquake.

Thousands of buildings collapsed due to the earthquake. Many people were trapped in the rubble. It is feared that the death toll may increase as rescue operations are underway.
