The state media in Syria reported tonight (Thursday) about an attack in Damascus. According to the reports, the Syrian anti-aircraft system was used against “hostile targets”. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition organization based in the UK, reports that this was an Israeli attack aimed at military positions in the area of Damascus International Airport and the southwestern part of the Syrian capital. This is the third attack attributed to to Israel in recent days.
Last Friday, the Syrians reported that the anti-aircraft systems in the country were activated following an “Israeli attack” using missiles in Damascus and southern Syria. It was claimed in the reports that the attack was aimed at the international airport of Damascus and the southwestern suburb of the Syrian capital.
During the week, the Saudi Al-Arabiya channel reported that the Israeli attack was aimed at a convoy carrying strategic Iranian weapons, which were on their way to be used by Hezbollah in Lebanon. It was also reported that the scene of the attack was near a building where the Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah held meetings.
