“In the next period, the Ministry of Development will present a complete as possible proposal for a new production model for the country,” said the Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakosspeaking in her studio Maritime in 88th TEF.
“It is important that the development spreads everywhere, that it is balanced, that it is in all regions” he emphasized and pointed out that “the center of our attention will be Macedonia, which will become the capital of the Greek industrial reconstruction”.
Mr. Theodorikakos said that “we have in front of us to continue a creative project of economic development of the country” and he emphasized that “we have one of the highest growth rates, but the point is that this should be passed on to people’s incomes and lives”.
As the Minister of Development noted, the Prime Minister announced specific measures in the context of his presence at the TIF. “It is very important to announce a new increase in the minimum wage in April, on the way to reach 950 euros in 2027,” emphasized Mr. Theodorikakos.

He pointed out that “consumption is going well”, adding that supermarkets have a new increase in turnover and transaction volume. “However, this does not mean that there are no problems, which is why we also support the weakest social groups” he noted, recalling that “a new increase – the one we can afford – has been announced for pensioners and civil servants”
Mr. Theodorikakos pointed out that “the prime minister acted realistically and by exhausting all fiscal limits”. “Don’t forget that we also have obligations and, when we escaped in the past, we paid dearly for it,” he stressed.
Asked to be precise, he said that it is a matter that concerns the entire government, which works to increase the disposable income of citizens. He further noted that for the fourth month in a row, prices in supermarkets are down by 1-2% compared to last year on average. “Certainly the prices are high compared to 3 years ago, however in these 3 years the minimum wage also increased by 27%” he added.
In response to a question about the VAT, he said that “if the country suffers a fiscal problem, that is, if some of the money we currently receive from the VAT is missing, there will be a very serious issue, and no one wants that, so we must all support the fiscal effort”.
