The Secretary of Education of the State of Tabasco, Egla Cornelio Landero, accompanied by Mario Chávez Campos, head of the General Directorate of Higher Education for Teachers (DGESUM) of the Government of Mexico, inaugurated the ninth ordinary session of the National Council of Education Authorities Normal (CONAEN), which is held this Friday in hybrid format in this capital.
On behalf of Governor Carlos Manuel Merino Campos, the head of the SETAB, reiterated that in Tabasco the educational policy of the fourth transformation led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador continues to be promoted, which is consolidated as the most important public policy of its administration.
In the presence of the representatives of the more than 260 public teacher training institutions, he considered that giving continuity to the work and agreements reached within this Council is to give continuity and continue implementing the 2019 educational reform that is progressive, the which devotes priority attention to the strengthening of normal schools and higher education institutions.
“Teachers, teachers, normal school authorities, today they are doing a great job that is also accompanied by something that was not done historically; since before the educational reforms were made and the teacher training institutions stayed with the same study plans and programs,” he stressed.
Cornelio Landero considered that this meeting will be a complete success, from which – he said – very good conclusions will emerge through which the National Educational System “will be strengthened and we will continue forward in that progressive right that is the human right to education, as Our norm says it and as it corresponds to all human beings.”

When speaking, the director of the DGESUM, Mario Chávez Bueno, highlighted the presence of the head of the SETAB, Egla Cornelio, at the inauguration of the ninth ordinary session of CONAEN, as he said that whenever he has the opportunity At meetings of federal educational authorities, he makes interesting and highly valuable contributions to continue advancing the initial training of teachers in our country.
The federal public servant pointed out that after this meeting, which was considered a pause to reflect on what has been done and will continue to be done, Mexico’s normal schools will continue to contribute to the transformation of education promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador .
“After this pause we will continue walking, since this meeting will allow us to fill our saddlebags with so much history that will serve as food and light for how much we still need to continue walking,” stressed Chávez Bueno, in the presence of the coordinator of Normal Schools, IESMA and UPN, Noemí Nárvaez Ávila.
It was up to the Undersecretary of Secondary and Higher Education of Tabasco, Luis Rodrigo Marín Figueroa, to welcome the authorities of normal schools, and considered that the work carried out in this session will be of great importance for the education of our country.
“Today more than ever we recognize the importance of normal education in a world of constant changes and particularly in the transformation of Mexico, since the challenges we face as a society require quality training oriented towards innovation, inclusion and equity. ”, he pointed out.
