Tabor Electronics announced a quantum server that requires a shorter cooling time than the big companies

by time news

Tabor Electronics is about to finish these days the development of a first server of its kind in the quantum world. Tabor products were used by IBM to build the largest quantum computers to date. The computer will reach milli degrees Celsius in eight hours instead of 24

In the meantime, after many years of being in the background as a significant technology supplier to most of the most significant technology giants and research institutions in the world, Tabor Electronics is currently about to finish the development of a first of its kind server in the quantum world. The server, which will be the first in the series, will be launched in the next two months and will be used for learning and research processes in academic institutions and technological research institutes. Later this year, two more versions of servers will be launched, which will be intended for companies and institutions that want to start their way in the field and experience running “gates” and quantum algorithms.

The uniqueness of Tabor’s new solution, which will be launched under the Tabor Quantum Solutions – TQS brand division, is that it is the first full quantum solution (full stack solution), which will arrive at the customer as a ready-made server that the customer will connect to a standard electrical connection and will be able to start working immediately. While today, all existing solutions require customers to buy many components, hardware and software from different suppliers, which are expensive and not adapted to their needs, and to develop calculation solutions (QPU) and algorithms on their own, a process that takes a long time, sometimes even a year or more, and at a price of over one and a half million dollars, a price tag High, the Tabor company undertakes to allow those exact customers to buy at least 3-4 ready-made servers, and this with immediate availability from stock. Tabor servers will come with standard quantum processors from the VORTEX series made by the American company Bleximo, a technological partner of Tabor, but customers who want to develop their own quantum processors or use processors from other manufacturers will be able to do so as well.

Also, while the existing solutions are bulky, consisting of many separate components with the need for multiple and different cables, which require a huge area to set up a “computing array”, as mentioned, the Tabor server series will arrive in a small and sophisticated server base, which will only require a normal electrical connection. Tabor’s unique technology will not only enable a huge miniaturization of the system, but will also allow customers to start running experiments in about 6 to 8 hours, from the moment the server is turned on at room temperature until the system reaches the required cooling levels (mK), while today each existing system takes about 48 hours to reach working temperature, from the moment of operation at room temperature. This ability will allow Tabor customers to perform a significantly greater number of experiments and run the algorithm.

5 qubit in the first stage

The Tabor server series will start with an entry version (Starter) of 5 qubit processors, intended for universities and research institutions that are interested in a development and study platform for doctoral students and students of quantum physics. In the advanced version, the servers will already include quantum processors of 8 to 16 qubits. Customers who start with the entry version will be able to upgrade their server to the advanced version already intended for advanced users who want higher capabilities. The highest level in the series being launched was the Performance version, which will already include 32 qubit processors up to 100 qubit processors, and is intended for customers who are interested in experimenting with quantum computing and running real algorithms, such as insurance companies, banks, security companies and others, if directly through the tools Tabor will include as part of its operating system or through third-party tools, from the well-known software packages of IBM and MICROSOFT, namely Qiskit and Q#, to advanced software tools such as the development system of the Israeli company Classiq, which allows even customers who are not in the technology taps, to draw in a way You agreed on the problem you want to solve, and the system will already generate the algorithm and the “gates” that will represent the problem to the computer and transfer the solution back to the customer.

Quantum computers on the edge

Unlike the computers that exist today that contain bits with a value of 0 or 1, the quantum computer is based on qubits, the basic processing units, which represent values between 0 and 1 with an infinite number of states that allow complex calculations to be performed in a few seconds or minutes and predictions to be made.

Ron Glazer, President of Tabor Electronics: “Throughout all the years of Tabor’s activity, we have always been behind the scenes, as a central technology supplier and the core of many well-known systems. In the last year, we made a strategic decision to start developing full stack solutions for our customers in all the segments in which we are active and specialists, and this is at the same time as the company’s continued activity as a leading supplier to companies and technological entities all over the world. Our goal is as clear as before, to lead the market at the technological level with revolutionary solutions. Our new quantum server series is the first of its kind in the world and constitutes a significant technological revolution, after which the entire industry will change forever. Our capabilities will continue to serve the largest companies in the world and this is just the beginning.”
