Tadam Tantha Kakaimai – Twelve Memorial Stones

by time news

As the Lord God dried up the waters of the Red Sea until Israel crossed over, He once again dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people.

Christopher Francis – Vatican

After all the people of Israel had crossed the Jordan toward the Promised Land, the Lord said to Joshua, “Choose twelve men from the people, one for each tribe. Command them as follows. “Take twelve stones from where the feet of the Gurus are and bring them with you. Put them in your shelter for the night.”

As soon as the priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord left the middle of the Jordan and set their feet on the bank, the waters of the Jordan returned to themselves. As before, it touched the banks and ran.

As the Lord had told Joshua, they took twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River, according to the number of the tribes of the people of Israel, and went to the place where they were staying and placed them there. Joshua said to the Israelites, “In the future your children will ask you, ‘Why these stones?’ If asked, tell them: ‘The Israelites crossed this Jordan on dry ground.’ Just as the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Red Sea before our eyes until we crossed over, so he dried up the waters of the Jordan before your eyes until you crossed over”. So all the people of the world will know that the hand of the Lord is strong. And you shall fear the Lord your God all the days of your life.”
