TADCO shops closing on Friday

Palladam: At the Palladam bus stand, there are nine shops owned by TADCO at the entrance of the bus stand. These, unopened for many years, are available without use. No action has been taken as traders have repeatedly demanded that these be put to use.

Merchants say, ‘Last, 25 years ago, nine TADCO stores were closed due to rent arrears. Since then, we have repeatedly insisted on opening stores. As there are shops at the bus stand entrance, there will be good sales for traders and revenue for ‘Tadco’ and the municipality through rent. But the building is falling into disrepair as grass sprouts and plants sprout, losing the revenue available to the state and no opportunity for traders.

Following the fatalities of the Somanwar bus stand roof collapse four years ago, security measures have been instructed at the bus stands. There is a risk of accident due to dilapidated ‘Tadco’ buildings. Therefore, the district administration should take action to remove the old buildings, build new buildings, increase business and revenue.
