SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – Energy transmitter Taesa (BVMF:) recorded net profit of 220.4 million reais in the second quarter of this year, down 60.9% compared to the same period in 2022, according to the balance sheet released in this Wednesday.
The regulatory profit, which reflects the company’s cash generation and follows certain standards of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel), was 246.4 million reais, up 73.9% on the same basis of comparison, as a result , mainly from the start-up of new projects, according to the company.
Regulatory earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) totaled BRL 534.9 million, up 15.1% year-on-year.
At the same time, the company also disclosed in a statement that its Board of Directors approved the distribution of dividends and interest on own capital (JCP) in the order of 313.4 million reais, of which 97.2 million reais were dividends and 216 million reais 2 million reais in the form of JCP.
