Taeyang of group Big Bang held a concert for the first time in seven years and conveyed his heartfelt affection to his fans.

On the afternoon of the 31st, the first day of Taeyang’s solo concert ‘THE LIGHT YEAR’ was held at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, located on Olympic-ro, Songpa-gu, Seoul.

On this day, Taeyang appeared on stage in a lift after decorating the stage with splendid lasers and lights, befitting the title of the performance, ‘The Light Year.’ Fans waved their cheering sticks to welcome Taeyang’s appearance, and Taeyang heated up the atmosphere with a charismatic performance while singing ‘I’LL BE THERE.’

After finishing the ‘I Will Be There’ stage, Taeyang greeted the fans by saying, “I sincerely welcome everyone who came to the first ‘The Light Year’ performance.”

Taeyang then said, “I’ve missed you so much. Did you all miss me?” and expressed his gratitude by saying, “I’m so happy and grateful that you waited for me for 7 whole years and came here looking so beautiful.”

Taeyang also said, “I was more nervous today than any other performance,” and “I named this performance ‘Light Year,’ which is an astronomical term meaning ‘street of light.’ I thought it would be really cool to name it that while recalling the path I’ve walked with you all,” drawing attention by expressing his special affection for his fans.

Meanwhile, ‘The Light Year’ is the first concert held by Taeyang in 7 years since 2017. The Seoul performances will be held on August 31st and September 1st, and after the domestic performances, a tour of Asian regions including Osaka, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Taipei is also scheduled.
